Fold or crumple?

The other day I went to the movies with a friend who is American. In the restroom, we spotted this vending machine. The labels are in German but I think you will be able to figure out what the words mean in English. (Look at your mad German skills!)

It really leaves me wondering what message the movie theater operators are trying to send the teenagers who go to the restroom before a movie? And besides, yes this is the only vending machine. Basically, if you need a tampon, you’re screwed (well, at least that is something this vending machine might help you with).

My friend put it down to cultural differences, just like the crumpling vs. folding of toilet paper. Because apparently Americans crumple and Germans fold. I definitely know I fold but how about you? Fold or crumple?

  2. No comment on the first part…but I am definitely an American folder. I didn’t even know people crumpled until last summer…ewww, much more effective to fold, nothing gets in places it shouldn’t be, you know?

(Of course you know, you’re a proper German folder)
