Here’s a thing about me: I own a lot of earrings. And by a lot I am talking 60+ pairs. To be more precise, I own 63 pairs of earrings. Unless I counted wrong. Anyway, they are beautiful and sparkly and I love them. And the number is ever growing, thanks to cheap fashion jewelry stores (SIX, I’m looking at you!).
I have lots of different earrings, big, small, silver, colorful. Some I wear all the time, some I wear hardly ever, some I used to wear all the time and now I don’t. But I would never just throw them away. Even though most are not silver and only cost me $5-10. But you know the problem about owning so many pairs of earrings? How do you organize them? Sure, they all fit into a box that is fairly small – and that’s how I store them. But you can guess how long it takes to find a matching pair when they’re all jumbled up like that, often entangled and all in a big messy pile.
Right, so this box? Is far from perfect. In fact, I am sure it is the nightmare of anyone with OCD. And every time I cannot find the second earring unless I take apart the entire box, it is my nightmare too. But you know, this could be so much prettier. Because there are so many great organizing solutions for storing your earrings out there, and not only are they, well, neat, but they are also creative, stylish and beautiful. And I swear, one day (soon), I will buy one of those jewelry holders for myself. Or heck, maybe I’ll even get crafty and make my own. Until then, I will just keep window-shopping on Etsy. So, tell me, which one of these is your favorite? And how do you organize your jewelry?

What a great post! I love the clean and simple look of the brown oval earring holder.
As for me, I just “dump” all my earrings and necklaces in a metal container. Not very creative and not very organized but I am trying to change that.

I have a stand up jewelry box, but when I move I’m planning on getting some kind of earring tree. I don’t have anywhere near as many earrings as you do, but I’d like to start buying more.

i am a total anti-accessory kind of girl. i wear the same necklace and ring every day. bought my first belt yesterday. haha. i have 2 sets of earrings, pearls for when i need to look fancy and big silver and black balls for when i go out on the town (read: never). so i don’t have this problem at all !! :)
i do like the trees, but they don’t seem as practical bc where would you put them, and they don’t hold very much. the last one would then by default become my fave. :)

You know, sometimes I envy those girls who don’t need a lot of accessories. I own so many earrings, rings (though not quite as many of those), purses …
I’m keeping my earrings like you in boxes, though I have them organized by style, which means big hangers in one box, small ones in another… But I have to agree that this is not very handy.
I love the trees and the big white jewelry hanger, although the last one is a really nice idea, too…

Thanks for your comment! Having them sorted into several boxes probably makes it a little easier to find a pair. You know, I am seriously considering making my own DIY version of the last one.
Oh I love these! My favourites are usually the earring trees but the last one is beautiful! Honestly, a rustic picture frame and some chicken wire is all I need??
Amazing. Up and down.
Thank you for posting this!

Yeah, that’s what I thought. It looks like it would be really easy to make yourself. I am not usually a DIY type of girl but I just might give this a try.
I loved your collection ;) I love to buy jewelry at SIX or Claire´s, but the problem is that as I´m from Brazil, so it always makes me think that for 5€ I could get more nice earrings in there than in here. Btw, did you do that black holder by yourself? I loved the other options and would very much like to have one for myself. My poor earrings are all in in a box, like yours. It´s terrible to find the ones I want to wear.
I didn´t find the link for the first holder, can you send it to me? And btw, here I found two other great options that you might like: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=38700470

PS. Great entry. xoxo
The black thing is just a black t-shirt that I put on my desk and lay all my earrings on. :)
Here is the link for the shop of the first one. I suppose they must’ve sold the item so the link broke: http://www.etsy.com/shop/earringgoround1. If any of the other links stop working, you can find the shop by putting the name of the seller into the search box at etsy.com.
I love the one from Langton Studio and the last one!
the easiest way to organize and store earrings is in ice-cube trays – try it :)
Thanks for your comment, Vanessa. Ice cube trays actually sound like a really good idea. I would have never thought of that! I might give that a try for now as they would definitely be easier to stow away for now.
I like the jewelryholdersforyou one. I have the style above but it is not white it is dark mahogany stained and looks stunning on my wall, out of the way because I have no space at all on a table. Everything I looked at was so small. The black on above is like 8 x 5. The one I have is 19 x 13. It is huge and I only paid $39.95. I got 10% off buying my second. I saw they made a necklace only holder, it holds up to 130 necklace. crazy! My first one holds every type of jewelry – not just earrings. For earrings they have a model that holds up to 100 pairs. They have new photos that show them holding a ridiculous amount of jewelry. That is what sold me. The really good feedback helped clinch the deal. I had to save up awhile but it was worth it. My mom saw it and she ordered too. I was so tired of tangled jewelry out of site. Just thought I would share.
